Have been here a couple of times now. Gotta say this is one of the best places to have Asian roast, dumplings and noodles in Canberra. Apart from having great flavor and taste, at least there is another reason why this shop is so popular. In my opinion, it is the meal set up. The menu and meal is set up in a way that even if you order one menu item, you literally got three types of food. For example, by ordering the item "Roasted Duck Wonton noodle", you will get a few pieces of roasted duck, a few Wontons and noodles. The sames goes for other items, such as BBQ dumplings noodles. Just keep in mind that this eatery is quite small with limited seats. If you come late on weekends, you might need to wait a bit or get takeaway instead.

For an authentic Cantonese food experience Tak Kee Roast Inn is the place to be. The portions are good and the staff are friendly.

Visited Canberra and friends of mine recommend this place. Google maps said close (updated 5 weeks ago), but there was review submitted 4 weeks ago, and their website said open. So I decided to visit this place today, and found out that they close from 8 to 28 January 2024 😭. Not my luck this time. But I will surely try this place when I have the chance to visit Canberra again in the near future.

I went to the restaurant with my friends to celebrate one’s birthday party and i think we had a pretry good meal. We ordered 5 dishes and all come quickly and have great portions, in addition to good price. The roasted ducks and pigs really blew out my mind with its crispy skin and flavourful sauce. The jelly fish salad and the special fried rice is also nice too. However, the rock salt soft shell crabs was so salty that I ended up having additional steamed rice to fit with. Besides, the octopus was not so spicy as we expected. Anyway, thank you for delicious food and i’ll come again and try the rest of your menu.

The Canberra OG Roast Inn #IYKYK my go to for roast duck and BBQ pork. Quick, fast, tasty. Been eating here over 30+ years and I used to work next door when it was Firestone, miss the OG owner faces but glad the food is still top notch!
